Stacey Porter, our head instructor here at Canterbrooke, has her USDF Bronze medal and is working towards her silver.  She brings a lifetime of riding and teaching with her.  She has evented through training level, coached eventing through intermediate, ridden and taught through fourth level dressage, and has also done extensive training of horses in both dressage and eventing.  She was a working student for Gunner Ostegaard in Vermont in the recent past and has also done some previous hunter/jumper training.  She is currently available for lessons and training, as well as clinics and coaching at shows. She has gone through the USDF Insturcter workshops and is currently working towards her "L" judge status.  Stacey has a no-nonsense approach to riding and is strong in the classical teachings of dressage.

Alison Bender has been a horse owner for over 20 years.  She comes to us with a double degree in Equine Studies and early childhood education from the University of Findley in Ohio.  The equine studies really help Alison with being the barn manager, and her early childhood education training makes her an excellent choice for young riders. Alison has been instructing beginner riders for over 10 years. She is currently furthering her Dressage training with CEC’s head instructor Stacy Porter.

Maggie Walker has been riding ever since she was a young girl. She started her equestrian journey training with United States Pony Club National Examiner, Stacy Thacker.  Maggie then decided to further her experience and became a working student for Marcia Kulak in Wellington, Florida. There she worked on the top A circuit hunter/jumper shows and also aided in riding the event horses. Maggie also had the experience to daily watch and learn from top riders such as Jane Savoie and Phillip Dutton. She has successfully evented through training level with hopes to compete higher with her young horse. She is also very active with the United States Pony Club where she has tested through the upper levels and plans to continue her ranking with USPC.  Maggie comes from a large riding family and feels that has helped her to specialize in working with younger riders.
